The GRICL-VH project connects major economic centres in the west – Mumbai, Surat, Bharuch and Vadodara – to Godhra, Indore and Bhopal in the east. The 31.7-km stretch of SH87 in Gujarat, runs from Vadodara to Halol, passing through industrial clusters with chemicals, pharmaceuticals, electrical, plastic, and automobile manufacturing units.

Short-Distance Traffic

Supports daily commuters between Vadodara and Halol industrial clusters for work and business.

Medium-Distance Traffic

Connects industrial clusters around Hazira, Surat and Ankleshwar to Halol, Godhra and Dahod.

Long-Distance Traffic

Facilitates vehicle movement between Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi, Gujarat and Maharashtra. Major commodities transported include chemicals, pharmaceuticals, electricals, automobiles, plastics, and manufacturing goods. A significant number of vehicles transport petroleum and chemical products from Gujarat's industrial clusters to Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.
